A new Australian study has found that women start thinking more kindly about their bodies after turning 45.

The Flinders University research questioned women aged between 18 and 75, and found that the older women were the most comfortable in their own skin, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Professor Marika Tiggemann said better body appreciation kicked in at "about 45 or 50" years of age, which might mark the time when women realise they can't live up to ideals, so that is one aspect where you can finally say enough.

She said that another possible reason is that people start to worry more about the functionality of their body, their fitness, sight and their hearing and their ability to do actually do things and young people don't think about those things at all.
