International Master of Memory, Vyshnavi Yarlagadda, who recently became the first Indian to win an open category medal at the World Memory Championships in China, is inspiring women worldwide with her achievements.
The 22-year-old, who was honoured by the former president, Pranab Mukherjee as one of the top 100 women achievers of India in January 2016, at Rashtrapathi Bhawan, told ANI that her goal is to set up an institution where she can teach her skills to others.
"Now my goal is to set up an institution where I can teach students whatever skills I have. They can learn something out of the general syllabus. I haven't got any support till now from the government expect the president invitation. I don't know whether it is because of the state differences but my parents are always my sponsors. What I suggest to the people, who want to come to this field, is believe yourself then you will get the support automatically," she said.
Giving details about the sport, Yarlagadda said that the game is a combination of aptitude, faces remembering, remembering dates and many more such things.
"A person who remembers more will be the champion of that particular segment and the person who succeeds in all the rounds will win the memory sport championship. I won the first memory sport championship when I was at 15 years of age. Then recently I have won bronze medal in the world memory sport championship representing India," she added.
Vyshnavi became the first Indian woman and the youngest Indian to win the International Master of Memory title.
She achieved this feat at the names and faces category in the World Memory Championships.
