World T20: Eoin Morgan 'unconcerned' by England's 'shortage of sixes'

England's stand-in Twenty20 captain Eoin Morgan has dismissed speculations that a shortage of sixes was the biggest concern for his team going into the World Twenty20.

England hit sixes only once as they were thrashed by seven wickets in their penultimate warm-up game by a West Indies team that cleared the ropes six times.

According to the BBC, however, Morgan dismissed the claims, saying that he does not believe those are the real concerns for the team as getting fours is more important than hitting sixes, adding that a large majority of matches are won by the side who hit the most fours.

However, the report mentioned that Morgan's claims were undermined by the evidence in Fatullah, where England's tally of 16 fours in their modest 131-7 was actually four more than the Windies managed as they chased down their target with 23 balls to spare.

But Morgan, who is standing in for injured regular skipper Stuart Broad, top-scored with 43 not out for England and he said that his team never put themselves in a position to take their opponent's bowling head-on, adding that they are focusing hard on improving their skills and getting some partnerships going.

England play India on Wednesday in their final warm-up match before their first game of the tournament against New Zealand on Saturday, the report added.
