Biopics seem to be the new way that sets cash registers ringing at the Box Office. With Bollywood filmmakers making biopics one after the other and actors showing their inclination towards it, it looks like films emerging on real life characters is a new trend in the film industry.
The latest one to join the league is the 'Yaariyan' famed actor Himansh Kohli, who recently expressed his desire to do a biopic on Bollywood's Dabangg Salman Khan.
When asked to name any actor he would like to portray on the big screen, the 27-year-old actor told ANI, "I would like to do a biopic on Salman Khan. I like the work of other actors too like Akshay Kumar, but if I ever have to do a biopic, than it would be Salman Khan. His life is so spicy. There are a lot of things in his life and yet inspiring. I would definitely want to do something on his life."
It is no secret that since childhood, Himansh has been a huge fan of late legendary actor Rajesh Khanna. Expressing his fondness for Rajesh Khanna, he said, "There are a lot of films which already been made on Rajesh Khanna"
He said that if ever a remake of 1972 blockbuster 'Bawarchi' is made, he would love to be a part of the film and would portray Rajesh Khanna's character.
But if given a choice, I would choose to do a biopic on Rajesh Khanna over Salman," he, however, asserted.
The 'Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi' actor, who is returning to silver screen after a gap of two years with the upcoming rom-com 'Sweetie Weds NRI', was yesterday spotted in the national capital promoting the film with the movie's leading lady Zoya Afroz.
When quizzed about the same, Zoya expressed her desire to do a biopic on late actress Madhubala and Priyanka Chopra. "I really liked Madhubala when I watched 'Mughal-E-Azam' and it's been my most favourite film."
"In today's time I think Priyanka Chopra is one inspiration. She really inspires me," she added.
'Sweetie Weds NRI' is an upcoming rom-com that is slated to hit the screens on June 2.
