Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah is unlikely to be selected for the forthcoming tour of England after aggravating a previous injury in his left knee.
According to the Dawn, a Pakistan Cricket Board official confirmed that the 30-year-old premium spinner was stopped from joining the current training camp in Abbottabad due to injury.
Giving an update on the bowler's injury, the PCB said in a media release, "Yasir Shah is suffering from tear in the lateral meniscus along with small osteochondral defect. He needs conservative management which includes physical therapy and extensive rehabilitation. In our opinion he will recover in 4-5 weeks' time."
Pakistan will travel to England in June for a two-week training camp in order to acclimatise to the overseas conditions ahead of the four-match Test series starting on July 14 at Lord's.
World number three Test bowler Yasir enjoyed a superb 2015 season, taking 49 wickets while helping his side reach the second spot in the rankings.
