Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah has said that he had been inspired by legendary Shane Warne's tweets while he demolished Australia with his spin, which helped his side win a rare Test series last week.

Shah claimed 12 wickets in two Tests, his first five-day matches, during Pakistan's 2-0 win, their first over Australia in 20 years. He said that Warne's tweets during the series encouraged him.

Shah said that it's very encouraging that a legend like Warne supported him so much and every day the Australian tweeted, The Dawn reported.

The leg-spinner said that he has never met Warne but it's his desire to meet the Australian, who took 708 Test wickets during an illustrious career that ended in 2007.

Warne is the second highest Test wicket taker behind Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan who finished with a world record of 800.

Shah said that he started playing cricket only after watching the great spinner. He said that he followed Warne in the beginning and his action was similar to his but then Aaqib Javed, former coach at Lahore academy, changed his action but added that Warne has always been his inspiration.
