Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari will reportedly take up residence in his luxurious Bilawal House in Lahore after stepping down tomorrow.

Zardari will receive a guard of honour, the first for a democratically elected president in Pakistan and his successor Mamnoon Hussain will take oath of the presidentship on Monday.

According to Daily Times, the president plans to stay in Lahore soon after vacating the President's House in Islamabad on Sunday.

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had organised a special ceremony on Friday to pay tribute to Zardari as first Pakistani president who has completed his constitutional term of five years and praised the president's efforts for strengthening democracy in the country when it was facing several problems both internally and externally.

The report added that Zardari aims to revive Bhuttos' party which has been defeated in May elections.
