Sports car maker Lamborghini has released the first images of its all-new Huracan LP 610-4 race car, which will be competing in the Super Trofeo one-make racing series from 2015. Recently, Squadra Corse, Italian carmaker's motorsport arm announced that it had hired some special drivers to test the sports car, and now a recent report claims that the initial shakedown testing has gotten underway at the Vallelunga race track at its home.
Discussing the testing, Sanna said, “The first shakedown is always a very special moment. I’ve followed the development phase step by step in Sant’Agata Bolognese, and we are all enthusiastic about this very important moment.
We have full confidence in both Zaugg and Babini, as well as in the young drivers who will contribute to refining the new car. The new Huracán Super Trofeo will ensure Lamborghini a key role in International motor sport.”
Officially titled as Huracan LP 610-4 Super Trofeo, the new race car comes packed with the same 601 bhp-5.2-litre V-10 mill, which already does its duty under the hood of the on-going Huracan. As the teaser picture depicts, the new race car carry some major modifications at the front, which is most likely to aid downforce and provide extra cooling to the super car.
An extensive body kit for the rest of the car with a large rear wing is also expected. In 2015 when the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo will hit the track, it will be competing in all three of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series’ around the world, held in Europe, Asia and North America. Not only this, the Huracan is also due to be developed into a GT3-spec race car, which will replace the current Gallardo GT3.
