BMW has taken the covers off its new flagship, the sixth-generation 7 Series. As expected, the new BMW 7 Series has lost significant amount of weight (130 kgs of it) and gained many features. The overall shape hasn’t been tampered with but the new 7 looks more modern and updated with the latest family design. Focus has been given to lightweight design, powertrains, chassis, operating systems, intelligent connectivity and interior ambience. Key innovations include carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the body structure, new generation engines, the plug-in hybrid system in the new BMW 740e, the Executive Drive Pro active chassis system, the Driving Experience Control switch with ADAPTIVE mode and BMW Laserlight.
The sixth gen BMW 7 Series will be the first car to feature an Active Kidney Grille including visible air flap control while the headlight units now connect to the grille. The headlights and tail lights are fitted with LED units with Laser headlamps as optional. The L-shaped tail lamps are connected with a chrome bar across the full width of the trunk lid. The new 7 Series get 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels as standard according to the variant and you can opt for sizes up to 21-inch wheels.

While the ride height can be manually controlled to rise by 20mm, the level control automatically adjusts itself according to the speed.
