Hyundai Tucson has received an overwhelming response in South Korea. The car has garnered more than 4,200 orders in just four days since the start of its booking last week. The all-new Tucson was first showcased at Geneva Motor Show 2015 and looking at the response the SUV is getting, it will soon become the best selling SUV in the country. The advance booking number is more than twice the sales figure for its previous version last month, which stood at 1,751 units.
Dimension wise, Hyundai Tucson measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,645 mm in height and has a large wheelbase of 2,670 mm which gives comfort to rear passengers. Under the hood, the SUV will be offered with both 1.7-litre and 2.0-litre diesel engines mated to seven speed dual clutch gearbox. The car comes in both two wheel and four wheel drive versions.
The deliveries of the SUV will start by the end of this month while it will be launched in Europe and other countries by mid 2015. In Europe, the new Hyundai Tucson gets two petrol and two diesel engines. The 1.6-litre GDI engine coupled with 6-speed manual gearbox gives an output of 133bhp while the turbo model musters a healthy output of 174bhp. The turbo one features 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
In terms of safety features, the car is packed with blind spot detection, smart parking assist system and autonomous emergency braking.
