Facelift of “the weekend racer’s” favourite car is coming to the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The German luxury automaker, BMW will showcase the facelift of its globally coveted 3-Series model at the upcoming Auto expo, which will be held in Greater noida from 5th to 9th of February. BMW has lined-up 3 cars for the 2016 IAE showcase and in addition to 3-Series, the German automaker will also bring its 7-series and soft offroader, X1.
Considering that this is a facelift, the exterior are subjected to marginal updates, which include updated headlamp and tail lamp clusters amongst other changes. The front bumper has been revised with the incorporation of a redesigned air intake.
On the inside, the car is draped in chrome accents, which can be seen on the AC vents, central console and AC controls. The cup holder on the floor console will be covered with sliding lids. Sticking to the traditions of facelift in India, the updated 3-series will continue to incorporate the four-cylinder, 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbocharged engine, which is seen in the current model. The mill produces 184Bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque, which outshines the performance figures of its rivals like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. The updated sedan will continue to feature the 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, which takes on the transmission duties in the current model. Like the upcoming BMW 1-series sedan, even the 3-Series facelift will be manufactured out of the company’s Chennai plant and will source around 50% of its parts locally.
