Competition gets amazing things done. Not only do the carmakers try to catch one up with each other by offering a better product at a better price, but the customers also get a range of options to choose from before they put their hard-earned money on something. And this is exactly what has happened with Ford after the launch of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
Ford India has announced the slashed prices of its compact SUV – the EcoSport. Applicable with immediate effect, the Ford EcoSport is now available at a starting price of Rs 6,68,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the petrol base and Rs 7,28,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi) diesel base. The price drop has come at a time when almost all other automotive manufacturers have been forced to increase the prices of their products due to new taxation rules that were announced in the 2016 union budget a couple of weeks ago.
“Ford EcoSport has always been recognised for its strong value proposition and this realignment further strengthens that proposition,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “With enhanced competitive edge across the entire Ford EcoSport petrol and diesel line-up, we are happy to extend the joy of owning India’s most loved compact SUV to many more customers and welcome them to the Ford family.”
The facelifted EcoSport was launched in October last year and came with a host of updates like daytime running lights, start–stop button, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and a new golden bronze colour. Alongside these features, the EcoSport also received the updated 1.5-litre diesel engine that now puts out 100bhp as compared to 90bhp before. The 1.5-litre petrol and 1.0-litre turbo petrol remains remained unchanged, though.
