Honda, the Japanese automaker had launched its first ever diesel car, Amaze compact sedan in India, which has been doing superb. The diesel powered Amaze seems to be an excellent product, and also make us believe why Honda took so much time before introducing its first diesel product. The Japanese automaker intensively assessed the market, and marketed it in a such a way that it brought back the good times for the company. Now, the automaker is all set to rule the growing market by introducing several new products with diesel engines.
Honda will launch the next-generation Jazz, new Honda City, all-new Jazz based compact SUV, new Brio based MPV (Mobilio) and a sub-4 lakh compact car in the Indian market within 2-3 years. Moreover, out of these five products three are based on new Jazz platform. The same platform will be used to develop next generation Honda City and the Urban SUV. It looks like Honda is betting on this platform to get success not just in India but in the global markets as well. Most of the company's new products will be based on this platform.
Moreover, Honda will also make best use of its highly efficient new Earth Dream technology to further enhance its market share. The company's 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine is the most fuel efficient engine in India that powers the Amaze sedan. The same engine will also power the new Jazz, new City and the Urban SUV. It is also speculated that the premium hatchback, next generation sedan and the Mobilio MPV will be unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
Honda cars India is also focusing on increasing its production capacity, and its new manufacturing unit in Tapukara, Rajasthan will start developing products by the early next year. The new plant will have a production capacity of around 1.2 lakh a year, and all these new products are likely to be produced in the new plant. With new Jazz platform, Earth Dream technology and the design philosophy 'Man Maximum Machine Minimum', Honda is all ready to conquer the global automotive industry.
