Honda has revealed the first images of the brand's new European version of its small SUV ahead of its world premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The HR-V is Honda's new entry into Europe's fast-growing small SUV segment.
The unique exterior design of the new HR-V prototype echoes that of a coupé, with sharp, dynamic lines that link the sleek upper body with the stable and planted lower body. This coupé-esque elegance is achieved without compromising the interior practicality of the car.
The HR-V features a centre fuel tank location to create one of the most spacious and adaptable small SUV cabins. Honda Magic Seats make use of this versatility by enabling a wide range of seating configurations, with the ability to fold the second row seats completely flat for added cargo space. We have seen something similar on the Honda Mobilio too.
The HR-V can be a good fit for the Indian car market, until we take price into consideration. This is one reason why Honda won’t even get the new Jazz-based SUV Vezel. Indian market will get a compact SUV from Honda, but it will be based on the Brio platform. This is the only way that Honda will manage to reduce the price of the SUV to make it competitive. At the moment, the Amaze, City and Mobilio are increasing the sales for the company.
The next product on the line from Honda is the Jazz. This will be launched in the beginning of 2015. Honda’s hands are already full with the production of the three new models and it will soon increase the production at its new facility. This will increase the delivery speed for the customers and at the same time, they will help Honda to get some numbers for the Jazz too, in the production line. The Honda Brio-based SUV still has some time before it comes.
