Hyundai is testing a crossover based on the Elite i20 and CarDekho caught the car covered almost completely in Chennai. While the size and the tail lamps give away the Elite i20’s identity, new features such as roof rails, new alloy wheels and daytime running lights in the front point to a crossover model. Crossovers based on hatchbacks are the recent trend with Volkswagen Polo Cross, Toyota Etios Cross and the latest Fiat Avventura all following the same principle.
Seems that Hyundai is also taking the same route with the Elite i20. When launched, we can expect a rugged looking model of the Elite i20 with some adventure based features like roof rails, body cladding etc. while the power trains should remain the same as the Elite i20. The launch date also isn’t confirmed but we expect it to happen quite soon. Till then, enjoy the pictures and watch this space for more info.
