Hyundai India Retails 1 lac units of Elite i20 in 11 Months

Hyundai India seems to be riding high on the success of its premium hatch Elite i20. The automaker has achieved a landmark figure of retailing 1,00,000 units of the model in the country. Hyundai launched the next-gen Elite i20 in the month of August and within the short span of 11 months, the carmaker managed to sell one lac units. In the year 2014-15, Elite i20 has been recognized with numerous awards including CarDekho’s Premium Hatchback of the Year.

 

Appreciated by most, the hatch managed to create a new benchmark in the auto industry by getting into the list of top 10 most selling brands in India within the second month of its launch.

Talking about the exterior profile, the front gets stylish new hexagonal air dam, redesigned headlamps, and boomerang shaped rear taillamps. The interior features entirely new dashboard with black and beige theme with silver accents. Other features include steering mounted controls, upgraded audio system with a larger screen and an advanced automatic climate control along with a rear AC vent and Push button start.

The hatch is powered by 1.2-litre Kappa petrol which develops 83PS and is mated to five speed manual transmission. The fuel efficient U2 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine gets six speed manual transmission and produces a maximum power of 90PS.
