After the launch of the new Mini 3-door and 5-door models a few months ago, the company has stopped the production of its two-seater models, the Coupe and Roadster. Now, the Mini 5-door and 3-door models are produced in seven engine variants at the Mini’s Oxford plant. The Mini Coupe originally made its world premiere at the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife immediately before its appearance at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) in 2011. The Coupe also wont in its class in the "Best Cars 2015" reader's vote held by the automobile magazine "auto, motor und sport". The Mini Roadster was the first open-top two-seater in the brand's history and has a textile roof which opens especially quickly, either manually or semi-automatically as an optional extra.
The new Mini 3 door and 5 door are now offered in a choice of four petrol and three diesel engines, covering an output range of 75 hp to 192 hp. The Mini John Cooper Works is the latest addition, whose 4-cylinder turbo engine puts out 231 hp, the highest output ever seen in one of the brand's serial production models.
There is also the Mini Convertible available in three petrol and two diesel engine variants, and the Mini John Cooper Works Convertible is still in the running, too. The Mini Countryman and the Mini Paceman are also making an impact in the premium compact segment. The five-seater all-rounder and the Sports Activity Coupé also offer a large range of engines and both models can be optionally fitted with the all-wheel drive system ALL4 which was especially developed for Mini.
