541 units of Camry Hybrid sold since its launch last year in the country
Toyota Kirloskar Motors India celebrates first anniversary of the Camry Hybrid in the country. It is also the first locally manufactured Hybrid car in India. Moreover, Toyota says 75 per cent of the total sale of Camry sedan in the country accounts for the Hybrid version. Wohh! people are moving towards greener cars.
Toyota, leader in hybrid technology and indeed it is the first automaker to launch Hybrid technology globally with Prius. Camry Hybrid is second hybrid car in from Toyota Kirloskar Motors after the Prius. The sole hybrid in its class, Toyota Camry flaunts first-in-segment features like - power reclined rear seats; Rear armrest with controls for power recline rear seats, power sunshade for rear windshield, audio system and air conditioning and three-zone air conditioning. Apart from these, the vehicle is modestly loaded!

It’s the heart that matters, under the hood is a 2.5-liter petrol engine coupled with an electric motor. The engine chucks out 157.8 bhp and 213 Nm of torque, electric motor produces 141.1 bhp and 270 Nm of torque. Collectively, it extracts 202.2 bhp of max power and features Hybrid Synergy Drive which intelligently switches between the two power source for best possible fuel economy. The Camry Hybrid does not require external charging, the electric motor also charges the batteries acting as a generator through regenerative braking.
The setup is mated with E-CVT (Electronically-Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission) and sports a certified best-in-class fuel efficiency of 19.16km/l and extracts just - 122.8 gm of CO2 emissions per km. The Camry Hybrid embraces lowest NVH levels in the segment and offers similar maintenance as that of the petrol car.
