Australia Market falls 0.5%

Australian stock market finished lower Wednesday, 11 April 2018, as most subindexes closed in the red, although energy and materials rose. The S&P/ASX 200 index slipped 0.5%, or 28.3 points, to 5,828.7. The broader All Ordinaries was down 26.1 points, or 0.44%, at 5,925.7 points. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 633 to 571 and 377 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 0.53% to 13.990.
