Bank stocks dominate among most active stock futures

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops

The May 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9,315.75, a premium of 30.45 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9,285.30 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 4.01 lakh crore from Rs 7.55 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index dropped 74.60 points or 0.8% to settle at 9,285.30, its lowest closing level since 24 April 2017.

Canara Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, Federal Bank and Punjab National Bank (PNB) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

Canara Bank May 2017 futures traded at 386.90, at a premium over spot closing of 392. SBI May 2017 futures traded at 296.45, at a premium over spot closing of 295.95. ICICI Bank May 2017 futures traded at 298.55, near spot closing of 298.

Federal Bank May 2017 futures traded at 117, near spot closing of 116.60. PNB May 2017 futures traded at 172.90, at a discount from spot closing of 174.20.

The May 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 25 May 2017.
