DQ Entertainment (International) rose 11.79% to Rs 21.80 at 15:30 IST on BSE after the company said it will co-produce an animated television series with Disney Channel Germany.
The announcement was made during trading hours today, 7 October 2015.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 102.97 points, or 0.38%, to 27,035.85.
On BSE, so far 85,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 9629 shares in the past two weeks.
The stock hit a high of Rs 23.05 and a low of Rs 19.60 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 32.50 on 10 December 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 15.50 on 15 September 2015.
DQ Entertainment and Method Animation have joined forces to produce the CGI (computer graphics interface) TV series, 5 & IT, a modern adaption of the much loved and famous book,"5 Children & It", by Edith Nesbit.
This project is being co-produced with Disney Channel Germany and supported by Noga, Israel. Disney Channel France has pre-acquired the show. This TV series has received wide ranging interest from broadcasters and licensing agents globally, and it will be available for broadcast on channels across the world by mid-2017, the company said.
On a consolidated basis, DQ Entertainment International reported net loss of Rs 12.65 crore in Q1 June 2015 as against net loss of Rs 12.06 crore in Q1 June 2014. Net sales rose 24.66% to Rs 25.73 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.
