FMCG stocks edge lower

FMCG stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 10.2 points or 0.09% at 11663.93 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Eveready Industries India Ltd (down 3.36%), Emami Ltd (down 2.25%),S H Kelkar & Company Ltd (down 1.78%),Future Consumer Ltd (down 1.7%),Marico Ltd (down 1.42%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (down 1.39%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd (down 1.24%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 1.15%), Godrej Agrovet Ltd (down 0.87%), and Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd (down 0.86%).

On the other hand, Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd (up 4.8%), Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd (up 3.89%), and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd (up 3.5%) turned up.

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 314.26 or 0.81% at 38907.78.

The Nifty 50 index was up 105.25 points or 0.92% at 11545.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 29.23 points or 0.22% at 13413.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 21.11 points or 0.47% at 4504.44.

On BSE,1190 shares were trading in green, 1172 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
