FMCG stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 56.44 points or 0.48% at 11732.57 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Coastal Corporation Ltd (down 4.99%), Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (down 4.68%),Waterbase Ltd (down 3.96%),Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (down 2.74%),Nath Bio-Genes (India) Ltd (down 2.17%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were KRBL Ltd (down 1.97%), Vadilal Industries Ltd (down 1.81%), L T Foods Ltd (down 1.48%), United Breweries Ltd (down 1.37%), and VST Industries Ltd (down 1.37%).
On the other hand, Gujarat Ambuja Exports Ltd (up 7.82%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd (up 4.5%), and Godfrey Phillips India Ltd (up 4.25%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 153.54 or 0.38% at 40437.73.
The Nifty 50 index was up 41.95 points or 0.35% at 11926.45.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 49.95 points or 0.37% at 13412.56.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 0.02 points or 0% at 4679.68.
On BSE,1063 shares were trading in green, 1294 were trading in red and 183 were unchanged.
