Net inflow of Rs 540.80 crore on 9 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 540.80 crore on Tuesday, 9 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 1136.15 crore on Monday, 8 September 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 540.80 crore on 9 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2720.12 crore and gross sales of Rs 2179.32 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 541.05 crore into the secondary equity market on 9 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2720.12 crore and gross sales of Rs 2179.07 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex shed 54.53 points or 0.2% to settle at 27,265.32 on that day, its lowest closing level since 5 September 2014.

There was an outflow of Rs 0.25 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 9 September 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 5976.72 crore in this month so far (till 9 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 5801.35 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.

FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 84311.86 crore in this calendar year so far (till 9 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 77145.67 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
