Net outflow of Rs 649.75 crore on 10 October 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 649.75 crore on Friday, 10 October 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 14.61 crore on Thursday, 9 October 2014.

The net outflow of Rs 649.75 crore on 10 October 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2576.75 crore and gross sales of Rs 3226.50 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 649.56 crore into the secondary equity market on 10 October 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2576.75 crore and gross sales of Rs 3226.31 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex declined 339.90 points or 1.28% to settle at 26,297.38 on that day, its lowest level since 8 October 2014.

There was a net outflow of Rs 0.19 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 10 October 2014, which was a result of gross sales of Rs 0.19 crore.

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 1436.30 crore in this month so far (till 10 October 2014). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 2015.54 crore from the secondary markets in this month so far (till 10 October 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5102.52 crore in September 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 4137.79 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 82001.40 crore in this calendar year so far (till 10 October 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 73466.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
