Hong Kong Hang Seng gains 1.2%

The Hong Kong stock market closed sharply higher in volatile trade on Friday, 08 December 217, following the firmer close of the US equity markets overnight and robust economic data from China. The Hang Seng Index ended up 336 points or 1.2% to 28,639. The H-share index rose 138 points or 1.2% to 11,289. Turnover decreased to HK$115.4 billion from HK$121 billion on Thursday.
