Information Technology stocks slide

Information Technology stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index decreasing 709.17 points or 4.47% at 15168.95 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, NIIT Technologies Ltd (down 7.25%), Tech Mahindra Ltd (down 6.79%),NELCO Ltd (down 6.77%),Firstsource Solutions Ltd (down 6.36%),TVS Electronics Ltd (down 6.12%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were eClerx Services Ltd (down 6%), HCL Infosystems Ltd (down 5.73%), Trigyn Technologies Ltd (down 5.71%), Aptech Ltd (down 5.56%), and Kellton Tech Solutions Ltd (down 5.39%).

On the other hand, Sasken Technologies Ltd (up 0.13%), turned up.

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1109.52 or 2.79% at 38636.14.

The Nifty 50 index was down 329.3 points or 2.83% at 11304.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 403.54 points or 2.84% at 13805.94.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 131.15 points or 2.69% at 4751.07.

On BSE,339 shares were trading in green, 1973 were trading in red and 125 were unchanged.
