EU member states on Wednesday delayed a decision on whether to grant Britain a three-month Brexit extension. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said if the deadline is deferred to the end of January, he would call an election.
Back home,key equity barometers resumed uptrend on Wednesday after a day's breather. The barometer index, the BSE Sensex, rose 94.99 points or 0.24% to 39,058.83. The Nifty 50 index rose 15.75 points or 0.14% to 11,604.10.
The trading activity on that day showed that the foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 213.23 crore yesterday, 23 October 2019, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 137.38 crore yesterday, 23 October 2019, as per provisional data.
