More than 374 lakh tons foodgrains allocated to the states during 2013-14

The centre allocated more than 374 lakh tons foodgrains to the States under Targeted Public Distribution System during 2013-14, upto December 2013. Out of this more than 337 lakh tons were lifted by the states for distribution. The highest allocation of rice and wheat for the year 2013-14 was to the state of Uttar Pradesh at 5451.39 thousand tons and lowest to Lakshadweep at 3.47 thousand tons. Meanwhile, highest offtake of 5036.82 thousand tons was also seen by Uttar Pradesh and lowest by Damen & DIU at 0.515 thousands tons.
