Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The June 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8221.85, near Nifty's closing of 8219.90 in the cash market. The Nifty July 2016 futures traded at 8251.20, a premium of 31.30 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 1.91 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.85 lakh crore registered yesterday, 20 June 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty lost 18.60 points or 0.23% to settle at 8,219.90, its lowest closing level since 17 June 2016.
Tata Motors, State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, Jet Airways (India), Century Textiles & Industries (Century Textiles) and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Motors June 2016 futures traded at 483.95, at a discount compared with spot closing of 484.30. SBI June 2016 futures traded at 213.45, near spot closing of 213.40. ICICI Bank June 2016 futures traded at 239.10, near spot closing of 238.15.
Jet Airways (India) June 2016 futures traded at 575.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 573.50. Century Textiles June 2016 futures traded at 656.35, at a premium to spot closing of 653.60. Axis Bank June 2016 futures traded at 518.40, at a premium compared with the stock's spot closing of 515.75.
The June 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 30 June 2016. The July 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 July 2016.
