Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The March 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7,537.30, near Nifty's closing of 7,531.80 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 2.29 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 46.50 points or 0.62% to settle at 7,531.80, its highest closing level since 1 February 2016.
Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel, State Bank of India, Yes Bank, and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Reliance Infrastructure March 2016 futures traded at 513, at a discount compared to the stock's spot closing of 515.55. Tata Steel March 2016 futures traded at 296.65, at a premium compared to the stock's spot closing of 296.45.
State Bank of India March 2016 futures traded at 184.30, at a premium compared to the stock's spot closing of 183.45. Yes Bank March 2016 futures traded at 788, at a discount compared to the stock's spot closing of 790.95. Reliance Industries March 2016 futures traded at 1,037.80, at a discount compared to the stock's spot closing of 1,041.90.
The March 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 31 March 2016.
