Japan share market closed higher on Monday, 14 July 2014, snapping a five-day losing streak, as the weaker yen and positive finishing of the offshore markets helped lift the market risk sentiments. The benchmark Nikkei Stock Average opened up 35 points higher at the beginning of the session and by the close the benchmark index had accumulated 132.78 points to 15296.82. The Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.82%, or 10.27 points, to 1,265.46.
