Power shares fall

Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 11.49 points or 0.6% at 1890.78 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 3.07%), ABB India Ltd (down 1.91%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.63%),JSW Energy Ltd (down 1.62%),Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.29%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Torrent Power Ltd (down 1.28%), Adani Power Ltd (down 1.13%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.89%), NTPC Ltd (down 0.87%), and Adani Transmission Ltd (down 0.46%).

On the other hand, Thermax Ltd (up 2.18%), Siemens Ltd (up 0.56%), and NHPC Ltd (up 0.42%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 152.42 or 0.37% at 41504.59.

The Nifty 50 index was up 36.05 points or 0.3% at 12201.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 14.43 points or 0.11% at 13379.34.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 23.47 points or 0.5% at 4685.52.

On BSE,1053 shares were trading in green, 1273 were trading in red and 177 were unchanged.
