Pricol jumps after mutual fund buys stake

Pricol rose 3.60% to Rs 41.75 at 9:42 IST on BSE after HDFC Mutual Fund bought 2.69% stake in the company through bulk deal on NSE on Thursday, 19 June 2014.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 15.66 points, or 0.06%, to 25,217.46.

On BSE, so far 1.95 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 92,045 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 42.35 so far during the day, which is also a 52-week high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 40.90 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 14.50 on 22 August 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 19 June 2014, rising 21.94% compared with 3.44% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 49.54% as against Sensex's 15.43% rise.

The small-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 9.45 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

On Thursday, 19 June 2014, HDFC Mutual Fund acquired 25.40 lakh equity shares of Pricol at Rs 39 each on NSE.

Simultaneously, Precot Meridian sold 26.72 lakh shares of Pricol at Rs 39.01 on the NSE.

Net profit of Pricol declined 17.10% to Rs 7.32 crore on 1.47% rise in net sales to Rs 213.79 crore in Q4 March 2014 over Q4 March 2013.

Pricol is engaged in the business of manufacturing dashboard instruments & accessories, oil pumps and idle speed control valve assembly, etc.
