Sharp Fall In Wheat Acreage

According to latest data from the agricultural ministry, the rabi sowing had been completed on 148.23 lakh hectares (lh) till 15th November 2019, around 11.6% lower than the 167.67 lh planted during the corresponding week last year. Wheat acreage fell by 22.21% to 32.98 lh while Pulses area also dropped by 16% to 45.60 lh. Oilseeds acreage is down 2.63% to 46.12 lh while Coarse cereals acreage is up by 0.36% at 17.26 lh.
