Dr. Lal PathLabs was trading at Rs 742 at 10:55 IST on BSE, a premium of 34.9% compared to the initial public offer price of Rs 550 per share.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 255.83 points or 1% to 25,846.48.
The stock debuted at Rs 717, a premium of 30.36% compared to the initial public offer (IPO) price. The stock hit a high of Rs 747 and low of Rs 715.50 so far during the day.
On BSE, 14.21 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far during the day.
Dr. Lal PathLabs had priced the initial public offer (IPO) at the top end of the Rs 540 to Rs 550 per share price band for the IPO. A discount of Rs 15 per share to the issue price of Rs 550 was offered to retail investors. The IPO closed on 10 December 2015. It was subscribed 33.41 times, with total bids for 27.12 crore shares.
On a consolidated basis, Dr. Lal PathLabs reported profit after tax of Rs 36.93 crore on total sales of Rs 405.04 crore for the half year ended 30 September 2015.
Dr. Lal PathLabs is a provider of diagnostics and related healthcare tests and services in India. Currently, north India accounts for 72% of the company's revenue.
