Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The June 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8202, at a slight discount compared with Nifty's closing of 8203.70 in the cash market. The Nifty July 2016 futures traded at 8230.95, a premium of 27.25 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 2.61 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 1.91 lakh crore registered yesterday, 21 June 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty lost 16.20 points or 0.2% to settle at 8,203.70, its lowest closing level since 17 June 2016.
Tata Motors, Arvind, State Bank of India (SBI), DLF, Reliance Infrastructure and Yes Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Motors June 2016 futures traded at 473.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 472.10. Arvind June 2016 futures traded at 323.75, near spot closing of 322.75. SBI June 2016 futures traded at 212.70, at a discount compared with spot closing of 213.10.
DLF June 2016 futures traded at 140.15, near spot closing of 139.75. Reliance Infrastructure June 2016 futures traded at 541.50, at a premium to spot closing of 540.60. Yes Bank June 2016 futures traded at 1078.30, at a discount compared with the stock's spot closing of 1079.70.
The June 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 30 June 2016. The July 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 July 2016.
