Vodafone Idea surged 14.54% to Rs 5.12 after the company said it will suitably increase the prices of its tariffs effective 1 December 2019.
Shares of another telecom services provider Bharti Airtel gained 4.18% to Rs 426.25.
The acute financial stress in the telecom sector has been acknowledged by all stakeholders and a high level Committee of Secretaries (CoS) headed by the Cabinet Secretary is looking into providing appropriate relief, Vodafone Idea said in an announcement made after market hours yesterday, 18 November 2019. To ensure that its customers continue to enjoy world class digital experiences, Vodafone Idea will suitably increase the prices of its tariffs effective 1 December 2019.
