Volumes jump at Sequent Scientific counter

Great Eastern Shipping Company, Essar Oil, Persistent Systems and Eicher Motors are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 9 November 2015.

Sequent Scientific clocked volume of 2.62 lakh shares by 12:38 IST on BSE, a 20.38-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock rose 1.20% to Rs 888.75.

Great Eastern Shipping Company notched up volume of 1.77 lakh shares, a 11.87-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 15,000 shares. The stock rose 6.70% to Rs 397.20.

Essar Oil saw volume of 8.47 lakh shares, a 7.93-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.07 lakh shares. The stock rose 11.84% to Rs 206.90 after Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi) granted relaxations of timelines sought by the company to complete activities pertaining to its proposed delisting. Sebi on Friday, 6 November 2015 granted relaxation from delisting norms to Essar Energy Holdings on the imminent takeover of its subsidiary Essar Oil by Rosneft.

Persistent Systems clocked volume of 88,000 shares, a 3.42-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 26,000 shares. The stock rose 0.62% to Rs 661.20.

Eicher Motors saw volume of 14,000 shares, a 2.91-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock fell 4.16% to Rs 15,997.55.
