10 percent more foreign tourists in May-October 2014

The number of foreign tourist visiting India from May to October 2014 has registered a growth of 10 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year, parliament was told Monday.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma told the Lok Sabha in a written reply that during these six months, 32.5 lakh tourists visited India.
August witnessed a growth of 16.9 percent, followed by July with 12.9 percent.
May registered lowest footfall with an increase of just 0.8 percent compared to the same month in 2013.
