The Telangana government will develop world-class Cinema City and Sports City at Rachakonda Hills at Rachakonda near here, it was announced Monday.

A decision was taken after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao Monday made an aerial survey of the area located on the border between Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts.

Accompanied by two ministers, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, collectors of the two districts and other senior officials, he also walked around the area.

According to an official statement, they found the area suitable for the Cinema City and Sports City.

About 31,000 acre land is available in Rachakonda, which has a historic fort and is a key tourist attraction. The area is already famous for shooting of Telugu films.
