10 vultures bought from Haryana to Bhopal for mating

At least 10 Vultures were brought for mating from Haryana's Pinjore Jatayu Conservation and Reproduction Centre to Madhya Pradesh capital c ity Bhopal.

According to Madhya Pradesh forest department, the vultures fetched on Saturday will be kept at Kerva quarantine centre for reproduction and nourishment.

Of the total vultures brought from Pinjore, six have long beaks and four are white in colour. After mating and nourishment, they will be abandoned in natural habitat.

The number of Vultures at Kerva has now risen to 30.

The extinction of Vultures is becoming an issue of concern for the world. India has established eight vulture conservation and reproduction centres to save the endangered bird species which are nature's scavangers.
