Two soldiers were killed and six others injured when militants attacked an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri town on Sunday morning, said defence sources.
The sources said the six injured soldiers were airlifted from the border town to the army's base hospital in Srinagar city as heavy firing continued inside the camp which was attacked around 5.30 a.m. by fidayeen (suicide) militants.
"Terrorists attacked the rear base camp of an infantry battalion and not the headquarters of 12 Brigade in Uri today (Sunday) morning which is posted on the Line of Control (LoC)," the sources added.
