25 militants killed in operations in Afghanistan

At least 25 militants were killed by Afghan police along with the army, during a series of operations across the country, an interior ministry statement said Thursday.

"Police personnel backed by the army, during series of operations conducted in parts of Wardak, Nangarhar, Faryab and Kandahar provinces since Wednesday, have killed 25 militants," Xinhua quoted the statement as saying.

Five militants were also captured during the operations, the statement said.
