A group of 40 NATO soldiers stationed in Afghanistan have returned to Poland, with the remaining 60 expected to come back by January, 2015, a media report said Monday.

The soldiers from the Multinational Corps Northeast, a part of the NATO Force Structure, landed at Poland's Wroclaw airport Sunday, Xinhua reported.

These 40 men, hailing from Poland, Denmark, Germany, US, Estonia, Czech Republic, and Croatia, started their mission in Afghanistan in July 2014. The Corps was established in 1999 by Poland, Germany, and Denmark.

They, along with Rapid Reaction Force from Turkey, supported NATO's peacekeeping and humanitarian actions in Afghanistan throughout 2014.

The Corps is a part of the NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
