A total of 57 army personnel have died fighting terrorists between December 2014 to November this year, parliament was told on Tuesday.
"From December 1, 2014, to November 27, 2015, 57 Aamy personnel have attained martyrdom in fight against terrorists," Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh informed Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
At least 38 army personnel were killed between June 1 and November 27 this year alone.
In reply to another question, the minister said there has been 151 ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control and the International Border under the operational control of army from January 1 to November 30.
He added that there were 249 ceasefire violations along the IB under the operation control of Border Security Force from January 1 to October 31.
Six army personnel were killed during the ceasefire violations along the LoC in the said period, he said.
