6.9-magnitude quake hits Vanuatu

An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale hit 102 km west of Sola, Vanuatu, on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake with the epicentre at a depth of 33.0 km was initially determined to be at 13.9 degrees south latitude and 166.6 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
