A Ghaziabad transporter who was kidnapped on May 5 has returned home on his own.
"We had put the victim's mobile iPhone on surveillance. But we could not get any result; in the meantime we received information from the parents that the victim has surfaced. They told us that the abductors had taken his licensed pistol, purse, gold chain and ring. We are trying to identify the gang behind his abduction on the information provided by the victim," said police.
Vivek Tyagi, 32, returned to his home at about 3.00 pm on Friday.
Police are questioning Tyagi.
Tyagi, director of Vivek Transport Company, last called his wife Anjali at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, asking her to prepare dinner. But he did not reach home, police said.
At 1.30 a.m. on Wednesday, a police patrol team found his car abandoned outside a hotel in Rajnagar. A driving licence and an arms licence were found in the car.
