Abu Dhabi, Jan 23 (IANS/WAM) The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) is organising the sixth Global Financial Markets Forum (GFMF) in March to analyse the economic recovery in the West, prospects in emerging markets, and the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) rising influence in the trade and investment flows across the West-East corridor.
Nasser Ahmed Alsowaidi, chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and chairman of NBAD, will inaugurate the forum, which is expected to draw over 1,000 attendees.
The forum's keynote speakers will include Lawrence Summers, who served as US secretary of the treasury, president of Harvard University, and chief economist of the World Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, former president of the European Central Bank, Sultan bin Nasser Al Suwaidi, governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, as well as executives of key Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) companies and several notable investors and thought leaders.
