The long wait to get a first glimpse of much-talked about film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" came to an end on Tuesday with the release of its teaser. The first few visuals show stars Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Fawad Khan and Ranbir Kapoor locked together in a complicated relationship.

There is love, heartache, joy and sorrow all tied together in the teaser, which makes it clear that the film delves upon complexities of unrequited love.

The film traces journey of Ranbir's character as an aspiring singer and his relationships at different points of time.

The over one-minute video starts with Ranbir singing the title track, and goes on to narrate the bond that Ranbir's character shares with Anushka and Aishwarya.

Karan Johar is returning to direction after a hiatus of four years. And the director, who picks his camera to frame different emotions be it love, admiration or betrayal into his films, seems to have panned his camera to capture the emotional story of one-side lovers.

Pakistani actor Fawad adds drama to the teaser with his brief appearance. He sports a grungy and disheveled look, and is seen getting into an intense fight with Ranbir (probably over one of his love interests).

The teaser might have opened a small window to the story of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", but doesn't give out much.

It lays out brief sketches of the characters, with only Ranbir mouthing a dialogue in the end.

Ranbir concludes by saying: "Ektarfa pyar ki taaqat hi kuch aur hai. Auro ki tarah ye do logon me batt ta nahi. Sirf mera haq hai ispe. (The power of unrequited love is different, it is not divided between two people. I own this.)"

Shot in Delhi, New York, London and Paris, "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" -- co-produced by Fox Star India and Dharma Productions -- is slated to release on October 28.

It is reported that the film might clash with Ajay Devgn's "Shivaay".

The teaser didn't only win over cinema buffs, but also left celebrities amazed with its beauty.

Aditi Rao Hydari tweeted: "Yummy! Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Unrequited heart wrenching love! Sigh!"; Akshay Kumar also shared that "no one can capture matters of the heart better than you Karan Johar! Looks like a winner."
